Materials & Care
Made from 100% soft, high-quality wool sustainably raised from sheep in Southern Peru.
Wash your knitwear carefully by either hand-washing or machine washing using a cold, gentle knitwear cycle and wool-approved detergent. To protect the ceramic buttons, ensure they are fastened and wash the knit inside out. You can also wrap the buttons in a soft cloth while washing.
We recommend avoiding unnecessary washing, as this can affect a garment's longevity. To dry knitwear, roll out excess water using a towel and dry flat on a rack away from heat.
Star Cardigan in Baked Red
I was lucky enough to snag a baked red star cardigan before they sold out, and also own one in the classic blue color way. These sweaters are beautiful, incredibly soft, and warm. The colors are so varied and rich and I adore both sweaters. They have been my go to top layer this endless east coast winter here in the US.
However, the one draw back I've found for both my Amano sweaters is they started pilling pretty much right away, which makes them look a little shabby up-close. It doesn't much bother me, and I'm not sure if I've done something weird to cause this, but I figure its a small flaw worth pointing out. I doubt the pilling will impact the life of the sweaters though.
If the Amano team has any suggestions or thoughts on handling the pilling, I'd be very appreciative!
Hi Noams, I am so sorry that I havent come back to you sooner!!!
thank you so much for your kind words and for sharing your experience! Pilling can sometimes happen with cozy knits, but gentle exfoliating with a fabric shaver or sweater stone can help keep your cardigan looking fresh. We truly appreciate your support and hope you enjoy your sweaters for many more winters!
If you have any further questions please come back to me... I will respond a lot quicker!!

Looks and feels lovely. Bought it for my daughter as a present and she is really happy with it. Looks a bit shorter than seems on the pictures.
